The lack of activity in my very modestly populated city is palpable on most nights, particularly since COVID. There are times when I value being alone and just hearing silence. But I know that I must maintain human contact on, at least, a basic level outside of work. This week, I have ridden my bike with over 500 people and even managed to talk with a few who weren’t my significant other. I have also planned to gather with an old HS friend and her parents, more than likely with a few other friends tossed in. We need human connection. I have a human who I adore and we connect on several mutually beneficial levels. For that, I am blessed beyond measure. But I do need the presence of other humans. Others need that, too, regardless of whether they will ever admit it.
[TRYING TO WAVE MY HANDS ON THE INTERNET!!] Mr. Andrew! The follwing typos are intentional. My name is James and I believe I might have 'something' that will add oil to the vision! It's one of those, "Why hasn't anyone thought of that yet?" type of thingss. I feel like I'm supposed to try to reach you with this. Like I litterally JUST woke up from a dream. Like this is a movie or something. Who knows maybe it will be someday. That'd be nuts. Like we'd get an actor to type out this exact phrase word for word. What if it was Steven Yeun. He kind of looks like me. or I look like him. whatever.. But, ironically I'm tireddd of movies, scrollinggggg why are we doing this.. Let's be human again! FOR THE PARTIES! So glad Andrew Yang is an extrovert, and I can be his offsetting introvert. BtW I am also near 90 years old and diabetic and am a member of old farts group who have lunch together every Thursday and mostly talk politics. Also a Covid Hermit and don't eat with strangers except on an outside patio. Old Farts rotate each person's home as venue for lunch outside. I am well vaccinated and soooooo happy NOT to have had Covid 19. There are many community gatherings I would attend otherwise but don't. After 57 years of perfect attendance have stopped UNC mens basketball and football and even Rotary lunch indoors. The basketball was primarily age and fatigue. In person is a powerful connection for passing ideas. UBI has an important chapter in "The Price Of Eggs Is Down" 4th edition Amazon Kindle or paperback, Also a text of the Medical Care Restoration Acra, in Chapter 2. only 10 pages 5x7 and 16 font. A great playbook for Democrats 2026.
